Bank South Pacific commits to support cyclone Gita recovery

Date: Tuesday February 20th, 2018

Bank South Pacific (BSP) is firmly committed to the wellbeing and prosperity of others, especially in the communities that we operate in.

During this state of Natural Disaster, BSP will provide cyclone relief through the following initiatives:

  • A donation of emergency supplies, hygienic products, clean drinking water and so forth will be presented to the Samoa Red Cross. These supplies will assist in providing support especially to the disaster-affected across the two islands.
  • BSP is also offering a cyclone relief "Principal and Interest" repayment holiday to all our valuable customers.  This means to assist with rebuilding efforts, our customers who were impacted by the cyclone will not have to make any repayments on their loans for up to three (3) months or six (6) months in most severe cases.

Taitu'uga Maryann Lameko-Vaai, Country Manager BSP Samoa, said: "At BSP we have a long history of helping the Samoan and pacific community in times of need. The impact of this natural disaster is without precedent in our country but the faith and resilience of our people will help us rebound quickly. BSP's humble assistance is merely to offer some relief as we begin to rebuild our homes and our businesses. "

The BSP Main Branch in Apia as well as Branches in Salelologa and Vaitele are open for full banking services during normal trading hours to assist customers with cash needs as well as other payable and receivable needs including telegraphic transfers and Moneygram.
