Q. What is changing?

BSP is making substantial investments to enhance our customers’ ability to manage their physical cash needs. These investments include the deployment of advanced cash counting machines at our Bank branches in Apia, Vaitele and Salelologa. We are also procuring 12 new ATMs which will be progressively installed across Samoa by 2027. All of these ATMs will feature modern capabilities, including deposit-taking functionality in selected locations.

Q. How will the introduction of advanced cash counting machines affect me or my business?

A.  This will significantly reduce waiting time and improve your business productivity.

Q. Will my appointment change?

A.  No, your current appointment day(s) and time(s) will remain the same.

Q. What do I need to do?

A.  You will be provided with the instructions on how to prepare bulk cash for deposit to improve your banking experience.

Q. Why are we now charging a Cash Handling Fee?

A.  The Cash Handling Fee has been introduced to cover the cost of facilitating cash transactions for customers in line with industry practices. This will also reduce branch congestion and long queues, and encourages use of safer, secure and more efficient digital platforms.

Q. What other options are available for customers to use?

A.  You can use our ATMs to withdraw cash or Internet Banking to transfer funds to other accounts or make payments using BSP EFTPoS at any BSP merchant.
