We are improving the security feature of the service in this upgrade, which will provide you with better protection and in doing so, allowing you a better online experience.

Presently you are not challenged when you transact online, in that you don’t receive a ‘One Time Passcode (OTP)’ to enter into the 3DSecure merchant site. With this upgrade, you may be challenged and if so, will be required to enter the OTP that is sent to you to enter into the 3D Secure merchant site.

As mentioned we are upgrading to allow you improved protection and the OTP allows you to now authenticate yourself as part of the transaction. This will reduce your risk of unauthorised transactions being performed on your card while transacting online.

No, you were protected and will continue to be protected. The difference being as you could not authentic yourself, your ability to transact at online merchants may have been restricted. Now that you are able to authenticate yourself, some of these restrictions will be removed allowing you a better online experience.

The OTP will be sent via as an SMS message to your mobile phone number that we presently have on our records.

That would most likely mean that we do not have your latest mobile phone number on our records. To allow us to update your records, please call into your nearest BSP Branch and advise your current mobile phone number and this will also need to be done each time that you change your mobile phone number.

Allow for 24hours for the update to become effective prior to perform online transactions.

If you don’t enter the OTP or enter it incorrectly, your transaction will decline, as you would not have been authenticated.

If your mobile is on roaming then you will still be able to receive the OTP on the phone number. However, if your mobile is not on roaming you will need to advise your nearest BSP branch of the mobile phone number that you will be using in your destination country, so that we can update our records. Please do this prior to leaving and allow for24hours for the update to be effective prior to performing online transactions.

To enable you to receive the OTP, please contact us via email - tcsfraud@bsp.com.pg or mobile phone number (675) 7157 5912 and we will update your destination phone number as a matter of urgency.

Please call into your nearest BSP branch and advise your latest mobile phone number so that we can update our records.
